There are a number of reasons why scanning photos and documents has become an important aspect of genealogical research. Once a photo has been scanned, it can easily be shared with any number of people just by making a copy of the file. Saving copies to cloud storage and/or external hard drives also help protect your treasured archives from disaster.
Digitizing documents and photos using a scanner is really an easy process and thanks to today’s mobile devices – especially smart phones – it’s even easier and more affordable.
