Our speaker will be Mr. Charles Tingley who will discuss “Final Resting Places”.
This program will discuss the various types of cemeteries that you may find while searching for ancestors. St. Johns County cemeteries are used as examples of the types of final resting places found anywhere in the country.
Mr. Tingley is the Senior Research Librarian at the St. Augustine Historical Society. There he assists persons researching grave sites and burial records on a daily basis. He has been the President of the Friends of the Huguenot Cemetery for over a decade. This program was originally presented several years ago at the Tomb It May Concern symposium hosted by the Florida Public Archaeological Network.
The meeting will be at the St. Johns County Public Library Southeast Branch at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 10, 2022. Light refreshments will be available. If you would like to bring some too, that would be great.
More information about our General Meetings is available on the Society Calendar.
