Registration is now closed for the North Florida Genealogy Conference. Walk-in registrations will be accepted the morning of the conference, but you may find your session options limited. There is still plenty to see and do. Make sure you visit the Storytellers Studio at the St. Augustine Genealogical Society’s table. You will find creative ideas for sharing your family history. The Studio’s website and Facebook group includes resources, project ideas and instructions. SAGS members have early access to the Studio.
Just in time to get attention at RootsTech, RootsFinder announced the addition of DNA Tools to their online family tree.
Today, RootsFinder launched an experimental version of our DNA tool kit. With these tools, you will be able to visualize and analyze your DNA matches and tag kits to your tree. We hope you enjoy these tools. They should make it much easier to determine which DNA kits are related to which branches of your tree.
You’ll find more details at the Rootsfinder Blog.
Have you noticed how many apps and platforms are integrating with FamilySearch? Maybe it’s time to get more familiar with the world’s largest free genealogy website. Dana McCullough has written Unofficial Guide to FamilySearch.org which is an impressive reference for getting the most out of FamilySearch. The Southeast Branch Library has two copies of the book – currently checked out. You can purchase copies at FamilyTree Books [$17.99 print or ebook] and at Amazon.com [$16.99 print or $12.99 Kindle].
