At the November meeting members of the St. Augustine Genealogical Society voted to accept several changes to the society’s Constitution and Bylaws along with the officers who will manage the affairs of the society. The officers elected to the Executive Board for the next two years include:
President: Denise Olson Second Vice President – Membership: Randy McDavid Secretary: Pat Tanner Treasurer: Sue DiDomenico
Note that the First Vice President – Programs position is open as are several committees including Research and Social Networking Coordinator. If you are interested, contact Denise or Pat for details.
This Research Notes newsletter is delivered every Monday morning to SAGS members who have subscribed. Each newsletter is also archived on the SAGS Support website. There’s lots of good information in those past issues. You can browse the Research Notes Archive or take advantage of the Tag Cloud found in the right sidebar on most SAGS Support pages.
The Tag Cloud is the digital equivalent to an index. Each article published on SAGS Support is tagged with keywords describing its contents. Those keywords are automatically collected and added to the Tag Cloud. In the example shown here you will notice that the tags/keywords are listed in alphabetical order and some keywords are larger than others. The larger tag sizes mean there are more articles discussing that topic. Click on a tag and SAGS Support will display all the articles tagged with that keyword.
This example just shows part of the tags posted on the site. There are a lot more tags waiting to help you take advantage of the resources available to you on SAGS Support.
The holiday season is always quite busy and while it’s not the best time to try and focus on research, it is a great time to capture family moments to pass on to future generations. Does your mobile phone include a camera app? If so, take a few minutes to get comfortable with the camera’s features so you will be ready to take those photos.
Final Notes
Each new post published at SAGS Support is automatically emailed to member subscribers and/or delivered to their newsreader. Research Notes is published every Monday morning and other articles are posted during the week. Subscribers have the option to control how often these updates are delivered. Look down at the bottom of this message and you will find a Manage Subscriptions link in the fine print as you see in this example. Click it and you will be taken to the WordPress.com Subscription Management page. Use the Delivery Frequency column to change your delivery options from “Immediate” to either “Daily” or “Weekly”.

Also down at the bottom of each delivered post is a Comment button. If you would like to comment on something discussed in a post or ask a question, just click the Comment button and you will be taken online to the comment section of the post where you can share your thoughts and read what others have shared.
