This is Cyber Monday – the online version of Black Friday. Many of the genealogy archives and services are offering deals from now into the new year. We are posting these deals at the SAGS Community Research Center group on Facebook. Many of the promotions are only available for a short time so the group is the best place to get the news out quickly without overloading your email inbox.

The SAGS Community Research Center is a closed group – for society members only – so you must request access by clicking the Join button. One of the group administrators will approve your request. Once approved, you will see the welcome post and all the latest news and deals posted to the group. But that’s not all! Our members and staff are an impressive resource for research support. The group’s primary purpose is to give our members a way to stay in touch between meetings. If you need help, describe your problem and see what your fellow members have to offer.

Are you looking for newspaper collections to help move your research forward? Sunny Morton has written an impressive article at Genealogy Gems discussing some of the many newspaper options available to us. Two obvious sources missing from this review are Chronicling America and GenealogyBank. See for yourself at Comparing Digitized Newspapers on Genealogy Websites.  By the way . . . GenealogyBank is kicking off an updated interface tomorrow. It offers a cleaner interface making it easier to save and organize useful articles.

Final Notes
