This month’s member meeting is Saturday with Judy Wright returning to demonstrate some of her tips and tricks on using the new version of Family Tree Maker. Check-in begins at 12:45pm and the meeting begins at 1:00. This month’s short course is a quick tour of the new web-based indexing platform at FamilySearch for those members interested in volunteering for the worldwide indexing event taking place from Friday through Sunday.
If you want to get an early start, you’ll find information and tutorials at FamilySearch. We’ve set up a post on the society’s Facebook page to let us know you are participating so we can acknowledge your efforts. We hope you’ll also use it to share your experience with other members. Even if you only index a few records, you are making them searchable for the entire genealogy community.
GenealogyBank has been celebrating Family History Month by posting some very useful tips. Their latest tip, Try Something Different has some very interesting suggestions to help break through your brick walls as well as a link to several additional articles with even more ideas.
