St. Augustine City Directories

This information is provided by the St. Augustine Genealogical Society for genealogical research purposes only.

List of Residences with Race, Street Addresses and Occupations for 1885-1886, 1899 and 1904.   Transcribed from the records at the St. Augustine Historical Society in the “St. Augustine Directory of the Citizens, Churches, etc of St. Augustine” and “Webb’s Consolidated Directory”.  Published by Chapin & Company, Publishers and Wanton S. Webb Compiler. The information was transcribed by SGS member C. by Mack Wills in June-August 2010.

The comment ‘boarding house’ follows some names. It was not clear from the source publication whether this term meant the individual lived in a boarding house or ran a boarding house.

A section of the 1904 published directory had a section labeled “New Augustine” which meant presumably that those names were of residents of what is also called “West Augustine”, the portion of the city to the west of the San Sebastian River.
