Happy New Year! This is going to be a very exciting year for SAGS members. This year’s speaker lineup for our monthly meetings is quite impressive thanks to Judy Parino’s hard work. Our meeting schedule is changing. We are going back to afternoon meetings, but on the third Saturday of the month instead of the second. This schedule change gives us more time allowing us to include things like special interest groups and tutoring after each meeting.
Want more say in society operations? We sent out a test poll last week and will post more in the future. These polls give you an opportunity to help us create a society that supports all our members. Each poll allows members to do more than just select from several options. You are encouraged to add your own comments and suggestions. If you missed last week’s poll, you’ll find it here.
We are kicking off the new year with our Family History Faire. Members are encouraged to share family stories, precious family treasures, photo albums and other ephemera that connects you to your past.
Registration is now open for the North Florida Genealogy Conference. You can register online or by mail. Cost of the conference is $25/person which includes a delicious box lunch. Visit the Conference Schedule page to select the sessions you want to attend. Submit your registration early to insure you get the sessions you want. SAGS members Paul Howes and Denise Olson are among the many presenters. You can also sign up to receive email updates about the conference. Stop by the conference site for the latest news and information.
